Colors-Values-Light-Techniques:

The study of watercolors, their varied aspects, and allure.

In this 4-week course, students use the three building blocks of painting; Primary Colors, Values, and Light, to learn to paint in the Primary Colors palette, from the neutrals of watercolor sketches to the primary colors of the Impressionistic palette. We learn about essential brush handling, the science of Light, what are values, and how to apply color. This basis provides solid insight and an essential understanding of painting in watercolors. This session can be taken multiple times or as a stepping stone for Building Blocks II. Materials are not included; the teaching artist will reach out to all new students with a list of recommended watercolor supplies. This class is for adults and mature teens of all skill levels.

This class is scheduled to be in our print studio, which is only accessible by stairs.
