In this Experimental Intaglio class, participants will learn the fundamentals of selected intaglio processes. Etching and aquatint methods will be introduced along with designated experimental aspects. Participants will gain a working knowledge of the science behind the proper preparation of copper plates, etching, and printing process, in addition to working with safer etchants, grounds as well as cleaning solutions. Non-toxic BIG ground will be introduced, replacing asphaltum base ground. Students will work with etching, aquatint, and sugar lift processes.

This class is for adults and mature teenagers of all skill levels and includes 2 hours a week of open studio time. All materials are included.

We believe art should be accessible to all. Financial assistance is available for those that qualify.
