Little Artists in a Big World
with Kat Boss
Ages: 7 - 12
$120
In Little Artists in a Big World, young learners will embark on a creative journey exploring art across continents and cultures. This hands-on course introduces students to the lives and styles of artists from Asia and Africa—regions often underrepresented in standard classroom art history.
Through storytelling, visual exploration, and discussion, students will discover traditional and contemporary works from around the world. They’ll then bring their learning to life with inspired art projects, including a collaborative oversized landscape painting of Garrison Landing in the intricate style of Chinese artist Wang Ximeng. Weather permitting, students will also take a nature walk, observing the world around them and creating their own bold patterns inspired by African textiles—exploring ideas of visual rhythm, symbolism, and design rooted in natural forms.
This class nurtures global curiosity, cultural appreciation, and creative cooperation, showing children how art connects us all. This class is for children 7-12 years old of all skill levels, and all materials are included.
Our class/workshop cancellation policy can be found here.
We believe art should be accessible to all. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
