Different Flowers: Recognizing Flowers and Their Many Painting Facets

6 CLASSES:

Day 1-2: Techniques of painting individual flowers

Recognizing the shape of flowers. Learning to sketch and paint different kinds of flowers

Flowers in a landscape. Learning to paint a landscape with flowers in fields in the foreground and background.

Day 3-4: How do we use light and see shadows to bring life into painting flowers?

Flowers in light and shadow. How to define shadows and paint light?

How do we find the right colors to depict the many variations of bright and soft colors in lights and darks that flowers represent?

Day 5-6: Painting Details. 

Using techniques of broad washes and fine detail. 

Learning Techniques that define botanical art.

Basic Knowledge of painting in Watercolors is required.

Additional materials are required. 

No class May 11th + May 25th
