Two Sessions Available

Geodes are stunning, mysterious objects in the natural world. Appearing like a dull, ordinary rock on the outside, once broken open, they sparkle and shine with crystals and colors. 

Tying then sprinkling dye and ice, we can achieve similar results on cotton fabric. Dye your very own set of pillow cases or pair of t-shirts like a beautiful geode in fall colors with the expert guidance of artist Candace Winter. After it has dried, you will have a lovely and useful item!. All while enjoying wine and conversation with your peers in the setting of Garrison Art Center! Due to the nature of dyeing with ice, the dye will need time to set. Students will pick up their creations on Saturday, September 27 or Sunday, September 28.

Each Creative Happy Hour features a professional teaching artist leading a project, drinks (wine and non-alcoholic), and a chance to be creative in a special place. When possible, our galleries will be open during this event, so you also have the opportunity to take in the latest exhibition. No previous art experience is needed, just the desire to relax and have fun!
