Introduction to Monotype Workshop
with Kaelin Martin
$75
Some of the best art happens when you let go of the plan. In this hands-on workshop, you'll be introduced to monotype printmaking — an expressive, accessible technique that trades rigid rules for creative freedom. At its core, monotype is imperfect and unpredictable, encouraging exploration over perfection. Designed for beginners and experienced artists alike, you'll learn the core fundamentals of the process: applying ink to a plate, building texture, and transferring your design to paper in a single, unrepeatable pull. Using stencils and found textures, you'll create multi-layered, multicolor prints that are entirely your own. Come ready to experiment and embrace the unexpected.
Please bring 5 stencils or flat textured materials from home (coin-thickness or less) — think leaves, lace, cut paper, or bubble wrap — with the option to create new ones in the studio.
This class is scheduled to be in our print studio, which is only accessible by stairs.
Our class/workshop cancellation policy can be found here.
We believe art should be accessible to all. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
