In this class, teens aged 13-19 will explore line, value, color, and composition. Drawing from life will be emphasized.

An Artist's Oracle
with Dawn Zichko

Using archetype as a springboard, each participant will be able to create an oracle deck for meditation or personal divination. These homespun images will be created using acrylic paint, ink, pen, copies of personal photos for collage, and image transfer. When we finish, you will have your own deck of 12 cards to use in your own way and to build on beyond the course. This class is open to adults and mature teens of all skill levels.

Cartooning for Kids

Learn the basics of drawing cartoon characters! Using shapes as a foundation, students will experiment with creating their own characters for comics. Attention to beginning technique will be given while fostering students' creativity and character ideas!

Pet Portraits

Do you have an adorable pooch or precious kitty? Maybe a horse? Learn some fundamentals of using images to capture your friend with art in 2 3-hour sessions. On the first day we will go over basics and create a black and white sketch; the second day will be full-color.

Figure Drawing Class

Life drawing provides the fundamental foundation for the development of drawing skills! The primary focus of this class is learning about proportion and anatomical accuracy and developing and strengthening hand-eye coordination. You will get the opportunity to try exercising more sophisticated and expressive line work and build a repertoire of reference poses for use in future artworks.

Color Drawing with Mixed Media

This course is designed to explore a variety of media and techniques that will extend the boundaries of mark making. Students will be encouraged to learn drawing techniques from sources and examples by artists from the past, as well as the present, and experiment with color and materials to come up with inventive images. The materials emphasized in this course include: pen, ink, graphite, collage, and watercolor.
This class is for advanced beginners and up. Adults and mature teens are welcome and all materials are included.
