Advanced Handbuilding and Sculpture

Explore creating dynamic clay sculptures in this advanced hand-building class with teaching artist and sculptor Ada Pilar Cruz. This class is open to both sculptors as well as potters working in a sculptural way. Class runs for 10 weeks and includes 4 hours a week of open studio time. Materials and firing fees are not included.

Explore almost any material you can bring in (excluding welding) with James Murray.
Work inside (and outside) the studio of sculptor, and master woodworker, James Murray. Learn to use tools (safely) in Jim’s well-tooled workspace, including an introduction to basic woodworking. Blend various materials including wood, stone, and metal into sculpture. Bring those found objects to class and create a new work of art or bring that project that you might be wrestling with and finally bring it to completion.

NEW! Exploring Line in Three Dimensions
with Emily Bicht

This class runs in conjunction with the current gallery exhibition, Jayoung Yoon. Inspired by this work and other artists like Alexander Calder, students will be exploring, creating, and using line as a design element in two-dimensional and three-dimensional space.
We will create drawings and sculptures using wire, string, 3D pens, and more. Please bring curiosity and enthusiasm! This class is for adults and mature teenagers of all skill levels. There is a materials fee included in the tuition for this course.
Please note: Our Print Studio is on the second floor and is only accessible by stairs.
